Acting Coach Annet McCroskey has graduated from the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and was the Assistant Director for the Young Peoples Program there. She has also taught acting to Kids and Teens at The Young Actors Studio, The South Bay Conservatory and as a private coach for adults. She has worked in the Entertainment Industry as an Actress, Assistant Director, Producer and Talent Manager. She loves teaching kids the craft and love of acting and finding their true self in the process. Our mission is to teach the young actor how to use their own unique personality to create authenticity in a character, for it is their own charm and imagination that will make them shine. The solid acting tools they learn will build confidence and self-esteem that will stay with them for life. The Acting Technique Classes: Students will explore different acting techniques, scene study from contemporary movies and plays, fun improvisations, theatre games, sense-memory, private moments, past circumstances, wants and objectives, substitutions and place work. The young actor will also work on audition techniques, commercials, cold reading, and breaking down a script, as well as preparing a unique monologue and working on great scenes as a group. This will provide the student with a solid foundation and versatility in the craft of acting. Last session will be a Showcase for an invited audience! Show Biz Class The seminar provides an honest inside look into the business as well as how to get you child started in show-biz, avoiding scams and rip-offs, what to expect on set and contacts to 30 reputable L.A. Talent agencies (none of them will ever require an up-front fee to represent your child) Free for parents of enrolled students and $20 suggested donation at the door for other guests. On-camera Classes* Young actors learn how to audition, screen test and interview successfully. We will do mock-auditions and the student can see his behavior on camera and will learn what works and what doesn¹t. What Agents and Casting Directors look for, how to slate and many on-camera techniques that will help them to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Each student’s session is taped and he can see his improvement on tape and take it home after each class. PRIVATE COACHING is available. CLASS SCHEDULE 1) Show Biz Class for young actors and parents.
